From the time I moved into this quiet old neighbhorhood, I've thought it felt like the neighborhood of Scout and Boo Radley and Atticus Finch.
Without knowing that, Bon said last night, "When I'm here I keep thinking about To Kill A Mockingbird!"
The streets are yellow with leaves these fall mornings. Walking Luci I pick up red and gold and brown leaves and press them under heavy books.
It's sprinkling rain this morning as I sit on my big porch. Yesterday Jan sent a picture of blue skies in Texas, saying that even the skies are reflecting the amazing blue wave of the midterm elections. A man I met here this summer described Athens as a blueberry in the middle of a cherry pie--but now Georgia, my home state, is a blue state again, and I couldn't be happier. And Texas too!
I've had a wonderful visit with Carlene, Bob, Jocelyn, and Day. Next trip I'll pack way lighter.
I'm dealing with the same foot pain that lays me low at home--and now it's meds and nap time, Luci licking my feet and calves as if it's her job to make it all better!
