One of the special places is the Blue Star complex--yet I've been there way too few times. It's packed on weekends and First Fridays.
Jane Bishop's shop (Mockingbird Handprints) features her beautiful fabric art, as well as pottery, paintings and jewelry by other artists. Jane creates her own fabrics and wallpapers. I've admired her chairs for years (often part of craft fairs) but didn't know until yesterday that she also designs furniture for her clients using fabrics and vintage chairs. Great place to shop or soak up inspiration!
Another great shop that you've probably visited on First Friday events in Southtown is San Angel's--featuring imports from Mexico and Guatemala.
