When I was teaching at UTSA, I remember walking to and from classes and sometimes spotting my curly-haired daughter with her friends--what a happy surprise it was to see her there! A time or two she showed up at my classroom during class and asked me for some lunch money or just stopped by to say hello.
Fast forward all these years. As she is beginning her first year as department chair at Falls Church High School, Jackson is beginning his freshman year there. She sent me this picture this morning in a text: "Look who showed up in my classroom today!"
He looks like a boy-version of his mom at that age!
