Coco is Miguel's ancient great-grandmother

First movie of the year with my six-year-old was CoCo, the Golden Globe winner for animated films--as it should be.  It was a beautiful story about a little boy named Miguel who went to the Land of the Dead to get his great-grandfather's blessings to be a musician.

The animation was impressive on every level and I loved it!  Elena, however, while she watched it with great attention and interest, found it sad.  She only likes happy movies, it turns out.  I didn't find it sad--I thought it was excellent, but it's possibly better for older children and adults than for little kids.
