I saw a funeral procession of miles of police cars, lights flashing. On an overpass, there were two fire trucks, seven firefighters standing in a row on the horizontal ladders, all saluting the cars passing below.
It was so moving to see such a tribute to the Elmendorf police chief, Michael Pimentel--who was shot last week in a routine traffic stop by a 24-year-old man.
I'm always in awe of the brotherhood among and between firefighters and police. The news tonight said that the procession was 15 miles long!
