My friends and I are hardly seeing each other lately. It's too hot to walk out the front door--much less walk all the way to the sauna of a car and drive to each other's houses very often. I mostly see Jan when we walk the dogs after the final heat wave has dissipated.
Today I ordered my scooter. You'd think it was a motorcycle, I'm so excited. It took two trips to the bank to make it all happen due to a summer SNAFU with my credit card people rolling their eyes because I was buying an item from a sports shop in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. But after two trips there, the sweet banker Jose finally convinced them it was a legit order. It's a light blue Scootngo scooter that folds up like a suitcase at the airport, so I have high hopes of taking it with me to Virginia and Colorado and anywhere else I might be invited to go after the heat is replaced by cool fall air.
Before meeting Cayce, the saleswoman, in Pigeon Forge, I talked to a few men in India about other brands, and finally got to buy the one that had been my first choice all along.
Tomorrow, however, I have an outing. Joy is having an art show at Mockingbird Handprints, 3 to 5, tomorrow, speaking to us all at 4 o'clock. It will be fun. I hope all my San Antonio friends will show up to see the opening day event of her show, Celebrating Nature! It will be up through August 22nd.
