I'm listening to the podcast "Where the River Took Us" by Aaron Parsley of The Texas Monthly.
He and his family were camping out just across the river from two of the camps last July. He tells the wrenching story of their house being taken by the flood, and miraculously all of them survived except this sister's baby Clay.
The podcast is about what happens on the day of the tragic flood and the aftermath. At this point in the podcast, episode 4, he befriends a father whose grief leads him to being an activist for change in laws and technologies that prevent tragedies like last year's happening again.
