From Paddington Station to Japan

After school today, Nathan and Elena took me to see Paddington 2--which was terrific for the kindergartner, the fifth grader, and the grandmother.

What a wonderful expressive face on this kind little bear!  I fell in love with London and Paddington Bear all over again--and enjoyed all the good British actors, including Sally Hawkins, who starred in Shape of Water and Maudie, and the two Hughs--Bonneville and Grant.

After the movie, the kids took me to their favorite restaurant, Fujiya Gardens, for sushi.  Ironically, their favorite restaurant was once upon a time the favorite of their grandfather and mine, back when it was on Fredricksburg Road in the early 70s.

Kindergartner Elena and Fifth-grader Nathan love their sushi and dumplings and Japanese sodas!
