Arrival in Port Aransas

Too excited to nap in the car, Elena was wide awake for the three hour trip to Port A.

It's windy here, but she convinced me to go into the pool with her even if it was freezing.  "Never let your fears hold you back," she said. "You can do it, Yenna!"

Who can say no to that?

After a swim, we went to get goggles and a bucket and a shovel for tomorrow's day on the beach.  Since she promised all her teachers sea shells, I hope we find a bunch!

Everyone in her school knew about her trip, even the teachers in the other classes--you'd have thought we were going to Greece!

She brought about twenty stuffed animals for the trip and she is now sleeping in a mound of them.  What a delightfully happy human being she is!  I am treasuring every moment of this, our first, road trip together.
