A month after Skippy's demise, Elena finally got the permanence of death.
She was crying inconsolably, "I miss Skippy! I want Skippy to come back!"
This time it was Nathan who tried to console her. "Skippy is in Heaven," he said.
"But I want him here!"
"Maybe he will be reincarnated," Nathan said, "Come back next time as a human or something."
Elena didn't buy it.
"Nathan, that's not going to happen!" she said. "Whoever heard of a human named Skippy?"
