If you happened to grow up in the South, I'm pretty sure you've often said the blessing over fried chicken--along with pie, potatoes, and peas.

Well, this is a first:

At the Pritchett's church this morning, they had what they call "The Blessing of the Animals."

Nathan took Charlie, his poodle.  And Elena?

....Took her favorite chicken!

So now we have a blessed dog and a blessed chicken, both very much alive and well. all set for animal heaven.
