Cures for Colds and Allergy Attacks

Like they say, a cold lasts about seven days no matter what you do!

So maybe it's just time to get better.  But I've had several recommendations I'd like to pass along to anyone out there who's got the symptoms of either a cold or allergy:

Arm and Hammer saline nose spray
Alavert--the kind that dissolves in the mouth
Emergen-C
Zyrtec daily at the same time of day
And--best of all--chicken and potato soup!

Healing Soup
First you put two poblano peppers in a dry pan over medium or high heat to roast them.
They should blister and blacken.
I had to hold them over the gas flame to get them all the way to black.

When they are black, put them in a zip-lock  bag.
When they are cool, rub off the black skin and chop them up.

Cut up Yukon gold potatoes, or any kind you like.
Put the potatoes and peppers and some garlic in oil--
along with a teaspoon of coriander and a half-teaspoon of cumin.
Saute a little bit.
Then add chicken broth and simmer for about half an hour.

I topped mine with chopped cilantro and a tad of cheese....
and it is absolutely delicious!
