Marcus Helping The Country

Just got this email from Day--about my eight-year-old grandson Marcus' plan to help the country:

After a long conversation about the government shut-down, Marcus was full of concern.  He wanted to know what the people would do without pay checks and what the country would do without government.  He seemed really worried.   The next thing we knew, he’d gone into his wallet and pulled out all his money, approximately 4 crumpled and folded dollars and about 56 cents.  He piled it on the table and asked, “Do you think this would help?”  We said, “You know what? It might!  Our Congresspeople need to see how much we care and you could show them.”  So, he wrote a letter to Congressman Gerry Connolly saying:
Dear Congressman Connolly, (we helped with that part)

I hope you all can find a way to make our govermeant work.  Maybe this can help.

(big drawing of a smiley face)

I love my countrey.
Love,
Marcus
